Our analysis looked at 28 schools in Florida to see which programs offered the best value experiences for public health students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. Specifically, our score for quality is discounted by the published tuition and fees charged by the given college. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The more quality your dollar buys, the better the value.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. For statewide rankings, we use average in-state tuition and fees.
Top 10 Best Public Health Schools
Our analysis found St Petersburg College to be the best value school for public health students who want to pursue a degree in Florida. SPC is a fairly large public school located in the large city of Clearwater.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at SPC are $2,682 a year. The average amount in student loans that public health majors at SPC take out is $33,748.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend University of Florida-Online. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Value Public Health Schools in Florida list. Located in the medium-sized city of Gainesville, UF Online is a public college with a moderately-sized student population.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at UF Online are $3,876 per year. On average, public health graduates from UF Online take out $18,087 in student loans while working on their degree. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $248.

The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at USF Tampa are $6,410 a year. After completing their degree, public health graduates from USF Tampa carry an average student debtload of $23,555. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $205, based on a 10-year repayment plan.
