Our analysis looked at 11 schools in New York to see which basic certificate programs offered the best educational experiences for healthcare students. Our 2023 rankings named New York Institute of Technology the best school in New York for healthcare students working on their basic certificate.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $39,760 to cover tuition and fees at NYIT. The school does not offer an in-state discount.
Some students may be able to take online classes at NYIT. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 33% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend New York University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Best Healthcare Basic Certificate Schools in New York list.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $56,500 to cover tuition and fees at NYU. The school does not offer an in-state discount.
Some students may be able to take online classes at NYU. During the 2019-2020 year, about 99% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Out of the 11 schools in New York that were part of this year’s ranking, Rochester Institute of Technology landed the # 3 spot on the list.
The average tuition and fees at RIT is $50,951. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid.
Online courses are available at RIT, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 84% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means The Graduate Center, CUNY is a great place for healthcare students working on their basic certificate.
In-state students pay an average of $7,410 in tuition and fees if they attend The Graduate Center full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $15,360.
If you are interested in distance education, The Graduate Center is an excellent choice, since the school is online.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend St. Joseph’s College - New York. The school came in at #5 on this year’s Best Healthcare Basic Certificate Schools in New York list.
SJC does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $30,576. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at SJC. In 2019-2020 about 51% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
SUNY Empire State College came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Best Healthcare Basic Certificate Schools in New York ranking.
Students from New York who attend SUNY Empire full time pay an average of $7,630 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,540.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since SUNY Empire does offer online classes for certain majors. During the 2019-2020 year, about 75% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Dutchess Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for healthcare students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #7 on the list.
Full-time students from New York pay an average of $4,976 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend DCC. Out-of-state students pay an average of $9,426.
One thing to take note of is that DCC does offer online classes in some areas. In 2019-2020 about 60% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Tompkins Cortland Community College came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Healthcare Basic Certificate Schools in New York ranking.
Students from New York who attend Tompkins Cortland full time pay an average of $6,625 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $12,280.
Tompkins Cortland does offer online classes for certain degree levels. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 96% took at least some of their classes online.
With a ranking of #9, Mildred Elley Albany did quite well on this year’s best schools for healthcare students working on their basic certificate.
If you want to attend Mildred Elley Albany, expect to pay an average of $13,873 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid.
One thing to take note of is that Mildred Elley Albany does offer online classes in some areas. During the 2019-2020 year, about 47% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Jamestown Community College came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Best Healthcare Basic Certificate Schools in New York ranking.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Jamestown Community College is $6,340. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $11,540.
Some students may be able to take online classes at Jamestown Community College. During the 2019-2020 year, about 61% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
SUNY Ulster did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for healthcare students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #11 on the list.
Full-time students from New York pay an average of $5,740 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend SUNY Ulster. Out-of-state students pay an average of $10,620.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at SUNY Ulster. In 2019-2020 about 54% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
