You can choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or with the growth of online education, you can attend a school half-way across the country without even leaving your house. Also there are many trade schools and bootcamps that offer short-term programs that open up more career options.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Healthcare Degree Search has created its Best Value Healthcare Master's Degree Schools in the New England Region ranking. Our analysis looked at 58 schools in the New England Region to see which master's degree programs offered the best value experiences for healthcare students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
This ranking is not just a list of inexpensive schools. We also consider each school's quality, since we believe a low-quality school may not be a 'bargain' at any price. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
For nationwide and regional rankings, we use out-of-state tuition and fees in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.

Our 2023 rankings named Worcester State University the best value school in the New England Region for healthcare students working on their master’s degree. Worcester State is a public institution located in Worcester, Massachusetts. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 105 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state graduate students at Worcester State are $5,796 a year.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend New England Institute of Technology. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Best Value Healthcare Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list. East Greenwich, Rhode Island is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out master’s degrees to 43 students in 2020-2021.
Out-of-state tuition fees for graduate students at New England Tech are $15,015 per year.
Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at New England Tech. In 2019-2020 about 52% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
New England Tech excels when it comes to quality. It’s ranked in the top 10% of all schools on our Best Healthcare Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Granite State College. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Best Value Healthcare Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list. GSC is located in Concord, New Hampshire and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 11 master’s degrees to qualified students.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state graduate students at GSC are $10,620 a year.
One thing to take note of is that GSC does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In 2019-2020 about 92% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.

Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 46% took at least some of their classes online.
Quinnipiac University landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best value master’s degree healthcare programs. Located in Hamden, Connecticut, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school awarded 166 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state graduate students at Quinnipiac are $20,340 a year.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Quinnipiac does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. During the 2019-2020 year, about 52% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.

Fairfield University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best value places for healthcare students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #10 on the list. This medium-sized private not-for-profit school is located in Fairfield, Connecticut, and it awarded 56 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Fairfield U graduate students pay an average of $19,498 in tuition and fees each year.

University of Hartford came in at #15 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Healthcare Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region ranking. Located in West Hartford, Connecticut, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 68 master’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
UHart graduate students pay an average of $15,202 in tuition and fees each year.
