Washington, District of Columbia is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out master’s degrees to 1,193 students in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 81% were women.
GWU does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 37% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Georgetown University is a great place for healthcare students working on their master’s degree. Georgetown is a private not-for-profit institution located in Washington, District of Columbia. The school has a large population, and it awarded 313 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 88% were women.
Since the graduate programs at Georgetown are primarily online school, so it is a great choice for returning adults and students who work full time.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Howard University. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Healthcare Master’s Degree Schools in District of Columbia list. Located in Washington, District of Columbia, the fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 50 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Around 94% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that Howard does offer online graduate classes in some areas. During the 2019-2020 year, about 24% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.

Out of the 11 schools in District of Columbia that were part of this year’s ranking, Strayer University - Global Region landed the # 5 spot on the list. Washington, District of Columbia is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private for-profit school handed out master’s degrees to 29 students in 2020-2021.
Around 86% of those degree recipients were women.
Since the graduate programs at Strayer University - Global Region are online, the school is an excellent choice for graduate students who need more flexibility than what is offered at some other schools.
University of the District of Columbia landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular master’s degree healthcare programs. Located in Washington, District of Columbia, the small public school awarded 25 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 80% were women.
University of the District of Columbia does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. During the 2019-2020 year, about 31% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
Gallaudet University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for healthcare students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #7 on the list. Gallaudet University is a small private not-for-profit school located in Washington, District of Columbia that handed out 23 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.

American University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for healthcare students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #7 on the list. This fairly large private not-for-profit school is located in Washington, District of Columbia, and it awarded 23 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 83% were women.
Online graduate courses are available at The American University, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In fact, around 39% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Catholic University of America came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Healthcare Master’s Degree Schools in District of Columbia ranking. This medium-sized private not-for-profit school is located in Washington, District of Columbia, and it awarded 21 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 86% of those degree recipients were women.

University of the Potomac - Washington DC Campus is a private for-profit institution located in Washington, District of Columbia. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 4 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 50% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since University of the Potomac - Washington DC Campus does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 9% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
