In 2018-2019, 305,309 degrees and certificates were awarded to nursing students, making the major the most popular in the country.
There are lots of options to pick from today when trying to decide which healthcare program is right for you. You can choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or with the growth of online education, you can attend a school half-way across the country without even leaving your house. Also there are many trade schools that offer short-term programs that open up more career options.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Healthcare Degree Search has created its Most Popular Nursing Schools ranking. This report analyzed 2,151 schools in the United States to see which ones were the most popular programs for healthcare students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Nursing program at each school on the list.

Our 2021 rankings named Western Governors University the most popular school in the United States for nursing students. Located in the suburb of Salt Lake City, WGU is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.
