Our analysis looked at 16 schools in Minnesota to see which doctor's degree programs were the most popular for healthcare students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Minnesota - Twin Cities the most popular school in Minnesota for healthcare students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the large public school awarded 764 diplomas to qualifed doctor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Around 63% of those degree recipients were women.
UMN Twin Cities does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. In fact, around 65% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Capella University. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Most Popular Healthcare Doctor’s Degree Schools in Minnesota list. Capella University is a large private for-profit school situated in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It awarded 368 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 86% were women.
Interested in an online degree? Then you definitely want to check out Capella University. Every graduate student at the school took at least one class online.
Out of the 16 schools in Minnesota that were part of this year’s ranking, The College of Saint Scholastica landed the # 4 spot on the list. Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at NWHSU. In 2019-2020 about 99% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
With a ranking of #6, Mayo Clinic School of Medicine did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for healthcare students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in Rochester, Minnesota, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 156 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Around 55% of those degree recipients were women.
St Catherine University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for healthcare students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #7 on the list. St. Kate’s is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 73 doctor’s degrees to qualified students.
Of those students who received their degree, 85% were women.
Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at St. Kate’s. In fact, around 87% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Concordia University, Saint Paul came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Healthcare Doctor’s Degree Schools in Minnesota ranking. Located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 33 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.

American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine came in at #12 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Healthcare Doctor’s Degree Schools in Minnesota ranking. American Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine is located in Roseville, Minnesota and has a very small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 9 doctor’s degrees to qualified students.

Minnesota State University - Mankato landed the #13 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular doctor’s degree healthcare programs. Minnesota State Mankato is a fairly large public school situated in Mankato, Minnesota. It awarded 2 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
